Twenty-two points in the third quarter from the Cincinnati Bengals were not enough to overcome a 24-3 halftime deficit, as the Atlanta Falcons made the plays they needed to make in the fourth, winning 39-32.

A Roddy White fumble late in the third quarter was returned for a touchdown by Adam Jones, giving Cincinnati a 25-24 lead.It looked as though the momentum of the game had completely shifted and the Falcons were on their way to a colossal collapse.

That was until White made up for his mistake, scoring a touchdown on an 11-yard pass from Matt Ryan, then coming down with a tough catch on the ensuing two-point conversion to give Atlanta a 32-25 lead they would not relinquish.

The Cincinnati Bengals were 10-6 a year ago, winning the AFC North while going unbeaten in six division games—no easy task in one of the NFL’s toughest divisions.Because of that, it would have been hard to imagine them sitting at 2-3 in Week 7 of the 2010 season and in serious danger of falling out of the playoff race rather early.

The NFL fined Atlanta Falcons Cornerback Dunta Robinson $50,000 for his hit on Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson that left both players concussed.

Many experts and analysts have defended Robinson’s hit as clean, as he did not launch himself at Jackson. Leading with his shoulder, he did not strike Jackson in the head.

Robinson was fined nonetheless.

The easy part was just to run.”Turner was tackled at Cleveland’s 12-yard line by safety Abraham Elam.“I was throwing guys off of me so I didn’t see him until the last second, toward the end of the play,” Turner said. “I was hoping that I was able to finish the run off.”

The Atlanta Falcons’ offense has made a number of winning plays late in games this year. This week, though, it was the defense’s turn to deliver the death blow. With the Falcons leading 13-10 with under five minutes to play, defensive end Kroy Biermann deflected a Jake Delhomme pass high into the air, ran under the ball, dove to make the interception, then got up and ran into the end zone, effectively ending the game by putting Atlanta up 20-10.
